Veterinary diagnostics enable our team to identify and treat health problems in a timely manner. Faster diagnosis of illness and injury can vastly improve the chances of a positive outcome.
Laboratory
The WellPet Group’s on-site diagnostic laboratory makes it fast and efficient to run a wide variety of tests. In many cases, we can have the answers we need in just minutes. This means we can have a treatment plan in place before you and your pet even leave the exam room.
Imaging
When a physical exam and lab testing aren’t enough to reach a diagnosis, we turn to advanced imaging technology, including x-rays and ultrasound. These tools allow us to evaluate the bones and internal organs, identifying injuries, diagnosing illness and determining its severity. Digital images can be analyzed by our doctors in real-time or shared electronically with specialists if necessary.
CT Imaging and Fluoroscopy
Our on-site CT scanner provides high-definition, 3D volumetric imaging designed to optimize diagnostic capability and efficiency and enables us to capture and view detailed/high-definition images in-house. This service includes onboard fluoroscopy, contrast CT studies, and digital radiography. If needed, CT scans can be sent electronically to an outside radiologist for final diagnosis.
Endoscopy
Our endoscopy unit allows us to perform more in-depth testing on patients without the need to refer out to specialty practices. We use our endoscopy unit to retrieve intestinal biopsies, perform endoscopies and colonoscopies, and retrieve ingested foreign bodies – all without the need for exploratory surgery. The light and camera provide excellent visualization of the intestinal tract, which can help us in confirming diagnoses.

I've been a member of WPG for about three years. Every time my girl Alie gets sick or hurt in any way, the WPG has been there to make her better, including weekend emergency visits when they're closed. Everyone there's very friendly. Wellpet is hands down the best veterinary practice in Rockbridge County. Dr Logan and his staff are some of the kindest, most patient, and dedicated group of people I’ve ever met. They saved the lives of two of my rescue kitties and keep my pup healthy. 10/10 will always recommend.
My puppy (Milo) got into some things that he shouldn’t have. I was very worried about an obstruction. Dr Logan met us there at night and took very good care of our sweet boy. He called us the next morning with updates. He’s VERY reasonably priced and obviously cares about the animals he sees. I couldn’t recommend a vet anymore than I recommend him.
Wellpet group is family caring for family! Whether skin or furr, when you walk into wellpet it's always a welcoming environment, full of a staff of knowledgeable and helpful professionals whom are willingly pouring thier hearts into caring for animals. Dr. Logan has helped me with our furr kids for ever! Even once when I had a piglet with pneumonia, he just said bring it on in and we will take a look and see why the little fella isn't feeling well. I have consulted with him about poultry concerns and always walked away confident and with the knowledge of how to best help a chicken. Our kitties and dog are well known by the staff and never seem to mind going in for routine care or emergency or wound care. The office is decorated nicely and very comfortable anytime you need to stay and wait. In a small community like ours everyone knows everyone, but the environment in Wellpet is more like everyone is family, everyone is always on first name basis, and even sometimes how's your mom and dad and em'. I've known Dr. Logan since I was around 7 and cannot and will not reccomend any other better than he. His experience and service to treating animals is likely longer than I am old, and I hope he never quits! So whether you've been there before or not, take your furr family in to meet the staff and qualified Veternarians on duty for routine care or emergencies and find out for yourself how wonderful and awesome Wellpet Group really is!
